It’s a kind of magic being behind the camera. I look for micro expressions that make your face and pose quintessentially you. I aim to find and pay tribute to your character through my Old Master inspired photographs.

My portrait photography is characterised by a strong sense of chiaroscuro lighting in the style of the great Baroque painter, Caravaggio. This combined with my passion for costuming and ornate fabrics. I research, design, or commission costumes and accessories in service of a great photo. 

I shoot in a fast, fluid fashion. I have found that many short shoots over a course of a day or two gives a fresh relaxed look to my portraits. I give time to chat and discuss my process, putting my sitter at ease in front of the camera.
